Auto Insurance

What can I say about auto except HOLY MOLY what's with those rates! The auto product changes continuously. It used to be that if you drove an old "clunker" your rates would be cheap. Not so much.

Then there was the focus on driving something inexpensive on gas and therefore it would be cheap to insure.
Not so much.

If you drove for years and didn't have any accidents or tickets your rates would go "down". Not so much.

There are many factors that influence rates for auto insurance:
  • your postal code
  • your driving record
  • your age
  • your vehicle
  • your years licenced
One thing is guaranteed you will still be surprised at how much your auto insurance will be.

As we speak, IBC (the Insurance Bureau of Canada) and auto insurers across Ontario are changing the way the auto product is produced, presented and purchased. It will give the consumer more choices to make and hopefully a more affordable price point. Keep watching for news because there are big changes coming September 1, 2010.

FYI - Never buy a car before you get the quote on insurance coverage.
